    Description

    Reproduced and Enlarged Photo
    of
    Leutnant Lothar von Richthofen
Brother of the famed Red Baron
    Perfect for Framing
Image taken from the extremely rare WWI Rothenberg postcard #3000 (from my collection).  Lothar von Richthofen was a high scoring ace of the Imperial German Air Service with 40 victories and was awarded the coveted Pour-le-Merite, which he is proudly displaying on this card.  Lothar joined his famous brother in Jasta 11 in the spring of 1917 and started scoring almost immediately.  He scored all his victories with Jasta11.  He would go on to command Jasta 11 when Manfred took command of JG1.  He survived the war despite being shot down/crashing several times which resulted in many serious injuries only to die in a civilian plane crash on 4 July 1922 in Germany.
I have removed all the writing, "cleaned up" and enlarged the photo which now over 4 times the size of the original Rothenberg postcard while still retaining a crisp and clear image. Matted and put into a standard picture frame it would be a handsome addition to any WWI collection.
