    Description

    Reproduced and Enlarged Photo
    of
    Leutnant Xaver Dannhuber
    in his Albatros D.V
Photo of Ltn Xavier Dannhuber in his Albatros D.V taken from very rare Sanke Card #615 (from my collection)
Dannhuber was assigned to Jasta 26 in July 1917 and scored his first victory on 17 August.  He  scored a couple more victories through the late Summer/early Fall until being wounded on 18 October.  Returning to the front he was posted to Jasta79b in November and assumed command of the Squadron the following month.  On 11 February 1918 he was seriously injured test flying a Pfalz D.IIIa and spent several months in the hospital.  He returned to the front in October and scored his 11th and final victory on 14 October 1918.  He was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Hohenzollern House Order.
I have very carefully removed all the writing and "cleaned-up" the image which now measures better than 4 times the size of the original postcard while still retaining a clean, crisp image.   Matted and put into a standard 9 X 13 picture frame it would be a handsome addition to any WWI collection.
I will combine shipping charges for multiple purchases
Shipping to Continental U.S. is .45
    All other locations is .75
