    Great collectible World War I Painting of a a German Seaman raising the Imperial German Flag after the Leipzig was sunk in the Battle of the Falklands  by the Royal British Navy.
    The back of the frame has a printed story about the actions in the Battle of the Falkland and a handwritten poem dated from a survivor of the battle.
    Battle of the Falklands destroyed the East Asian Squadron of the Imperial German Navy and weakened their ability to fight further on any of the seas.
    The painting was done by a German painter, Grosche, in 1920 that served in the Imperial German Navy during World War I.
    Painting was done during a time where Germany was struggling to advance from the war and was trying to establish a patriotic identity.
    Framed piece measures 17 inches wide by 15 inches high.
    Frame shows a lot of wear and is very fragile and needs to be reinforced or replaced.
