This Antique Enamel Orthodox Icon made in Russia of Royal Imperia, silver stamps 84" "Zolotniky", assay and makers mark. Is truly a fabulous piece of Russian Royal treasures of Russian Imperia,
there are 3 damages from the edges of the icon, three attempts to solder on the edges of the icon
.  84” Silver Gilt OKLAD and Egg tempera Hand painted, (Old Russian Imperial silver marks 84”). There are small holes from nails on the crown and on the sides of the Oklad, but generally, does not spoil of the subject. Looks like over all good condition considering the age. (Please look at the pictures).

In the half-length image, Christ holds the New Testament in his left hand and makes the gesture of teaching or of blessing with his right. Christ blesses the spectator with his fingers. One of the oldest iconographies of the Orthodox Church.
The icon of
Christ Pantokrator
is one of the most common religious images of Orthodox Christianity, was one of the first images of Christ developed in the Early Christian Church and remains a central icon of the Eastern Orthodox Church. In the half-length image, Christ holds the New Testament in his left hand and makes the gesture of teaching or of blessing with his right. The typical Western Christ in Majesty is a full-length icon. In the early middle Ages, it usually presented Christ in a mandala or other geometric frame, surrounded by the Four Evangelists or their symbols.
