Striking large textured oil on canvas painting by well listed artist Nicholas Sperakis. Art, beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. I had listed this painting a while ago, then removed it. I had received MANY comments from eBay members, many included words like "disgraceful", "horrific", "grotesque", "shameful" you get the point. I am not out to teach my philosophy about what art means to me, but I have always been a believer that if art, or anything for that matter can evoke an emotion, good or bad, there is something to be said about that. This picture does just that, it is striking, it causes a reaction.
Nicholas Sperakis:
Nicholas Sperakis was born in New York in 1943 and currently resides there. He studied at the Art Students League, Pratt Graphics Center and the National Academy of Design.
He is a member of the Society of American Graphic Artists (SAGA), the American Federation of Modern Painters and Sculptors, the Rhino Horn Group and the American Federation of Art.
Nicholas Sperakis has won many awards and has had several one- person exhibitions in New York. His work has been included in numerous exhibitions in the United States, Europe, South America and Asia.
I have accumulated so many items which I want to sell and just don't have the time to be as descriptive in writing up my listings. As such, I really try my best to let my photos speak for the items I sell.
