    ANTIQUE EASTERN CATHOLIC CHURCH, BYZANTINE RITE, EPITAPHIOS (PLASHANITSA) SHROUD
    Beautifully hand painted central panel of Christ, with embroidery, gold colored trim, fringe, and tassels, very nice piece of religious artwork that needs to be framed
    The Plashanitsa is used on the last two days of Holy Week as part of the ceremonies marking the death and resurrection of Christ. It is placed on the Altar table.
    Age - early 20th Century
    Size - approximately 50"H x 27 1/2"W, without fringe
    Condition - used condition with wear and damage as shown, creases to painted image with associated wear, substantial damage to some areas of fringe, two holes to fabric lining on back
