Antique 18th Century Colonial Icon Oil Jesus w/ Samaritan Women Gold Wood Frame
Spanish school.
Painted canvas.
It looks like there are two canvases on this one frame. One has been stretched over top of one another.
Whether both have been painted, I am not sure.
It is possible the stretcher is newer, has been lined and the canvas re-stretched.
Measures approximately:
14 inches X 16 inches canvas only
18 inches X 20 inches framed
Frame has some damage.
Surface displays areas of craquelure.
Upper left and upper right corner and Jesus figure show some signs of wear commensurate with age of painting. Back of canvas has some foxing. See all images.
