Description
This wonderful large 7-1/4" versionof this very popular in her smaller 5-1/2" version
is absolutely magnificent in person.
. I have never seen another one so the fact that she is actually stamped SAMPLE under the glaze makes me think that
perhaps she is the only one in existence (but now I know there is another one out there)
...I have never seen another one in all my years of paying attention to these wonderful creations.
Some of us collectors identified her as Shelley Winters in her small incarnation but this large version looks as if she went on a diet and lost some weight making me wonder weather she was actually meant to be Shelley, she looks to me a bit more like Donna Reed....BUT, this are all suppositions as unless they are definitely identifiable like Marilyn, Jackie, Agnes Moorhead, Lucy etc. etc. we know nothing for sure as there is very little data on them.
Excellent condition
, no chips, no cracks, very clean inside and out. Has some expected crazing here and there, normal clean and clear most very hard to see with the naked eye, one needs a strong light. She has a manufacturing indentation in a small arc shape like this: ( on her neck that it’s covered by her necklace. Also a tiny beauty mark below her left eye that is so tiny that it wasn’t captured by my photos and is actually quite cute when looking closely. Nothing at all interferes with her magnificence on display.
Her
hair is more Reddish
than my photos allowed me to show.
Measures 7-1/4" in height
, is stamped on the bottom K1053L - RELPO , has an almost complete Relpo foil label and is
marked SAMPLE.
No collection is complete or as valuable unless they include unique pieces that no other collection can have due to the rarity or uniqueness (please read the added note below)....This is one in 1000 opportunity for ONE COLLECTOR to be able to add such a treasure to his/her collection.
ADDITIONAL NO
TE
.... I had an email from a fellow "head hunter" letting me know that she had one in her collection and was sold in 2010...This makes 2 of them in
existence
as far as I know ... even though I have never seen another I couldn't be 100% sure as to IF there may be another one (s) as
sometimes more than one sample have been found but this in no way negates her rarity and uniqueness.
