    Rarity and original!
    Total length 27-28cm
In 1916, during the First World War, a propaganda campaign was launched throughout Germany under the slogan "I gave gold for iron" or "I gave gold for weapons, I took iron for honor" (German: Gold gab ich zur Wehr, Eisen nahm ich zur Ehr). To help the front, a voluntary collection of gold jewelry was organized. Despite the voluntary nature of the action, public opinion pressured those who continued to wear gold rather than iron jewelry. They were accused of lack of patriotism.
