An appealing 1876 better date shield nickel graded MS 64 by NGC. It looks like this coin has a re-punched date with some neat die cracks throughout the obverse. It holds a faint golden patina among both sides. A better date to the series that is seldom offered in this grade level.
This coin holds a high mintage of 2,530,000. However, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 4,000 have survived in all grades today. It is one of only 107 graded Mint State 64 by NGC.
