Unisaw Cast Iron Motor Cover. This cover is a brand new reproduction using an original Delta goose egg cover. We then scanned it using a state of the art 3D scanner. (Interestingly, when we viewed the data, the original pattern making technique became apparent. Wooden cross sections, like the ribs in a boat, were filled with a plaster like material. When it dried, it shrank. We could still see the wooden sections as "error" that appeared as a different color in the program. We instructed the program to smooth out the error, creating a shape more uniform than the original, but perfectly consistent in size and thickness.) We then created a stable palstic model using CNC technology from which to create our foundry tool. This cover will fit all older Unisaws with the oval motor opening and a torpedo Unisaw motor.
